Shoko the Monkey

Shoko the Monkey

Adorable handmade knitted doll. This is Shoko (named after the African Shona word for Monkey).

These dolls have been hand knitted by a women's entrepreneur initiative in Zimbabwe. Each product comes with its own swing tag containing its personal name and the name & picture of the lady who knitted it.

As well as creating employment for local women the aim is to give them hope as they have the opportunity to use their craft skills to build a future for themselves and their families.

The African animals are all wearing their favourite jumpers as it's their 1st time in the UK!

Fun facts about monkeys:
  • Monkeys really do peel their bananas and don't eat the skin
  • Albert II was the first monkey in space, he landed on the moon on 14th June 1949.
  • A group of monkeys is called by a few names, either a troop, a barrell or a cartload

Each product is unique and you will be giving back to people in need.
